ONE-LINER

GRAKKON is a free browser vector-arcade space MMO — vectors over voxels, real pilots and AI wingmates sharing the same dark, no install required.

SHORT DESCRIPTION

GRAKKON is a free browser-based vector-arcade space MMO. Fly across a chart of galaxies — ORION's forgiving Shallows to VELA's permanent Emberline pressure — customizing hull, engine, weapon, and shield, mining wrecks for credits, and dogfighting real pilots (and the AI wingmates who fly beside them) on proximity radio.

LONG DESCRIPTION

GRAKKON is a love letter to the cabinets we grew up feeding quarters to — wired to a real Postgres and shipped on the open web. It's a free real-time multiplayer vector-arcade space MMO that runs in your browser: sign in with Google, build your ship from a catalog of hulls, engines, weapons, and shields, and fly into a chart of galaxies, each with its own reason to fly it. ORION is the welcoming harbor — apprenticeship, safe holds, forgiving physics. VELA is the other end of the chart — permanent pressure, no mercy, the fire that never left. Real pilots share every galaxy with AI wingmates that fill the empty seats when the room thins out — you often can't tell which is which. Proximity radio means pilots in range hear each other. Free to play, no install required; an optional premium catalog is planned.

FEATURES

  • Real-time multiplayer combat across a chart of galaxies, each with its own physics and its own reason to fly it
  • Per-galaxy physics — ORION holds your hand, VELA shows no mercy
  • Ship customization: swap hull, engine, weapon, and shield (3 variants each, 6 hull palettes)
  • Server-authoritative physics with client prediction + interpolation
  • Proximity radio chat — pilots in range hear each other; nobody else
  • Persistent pilot identity, loadout, and resources (Postgres-backed)
  • Vector-style rendering — CRT scanlines, neon palette, instant visual readability
  • Free in browser · no install · sign in with Google in one tap
  • Coming soon: Ironlogic — programmable AI drone ships you build by chatting

BRAND GRAPHICS

Slogan cards, ready to drop into an article or video as-is. Each comes two ways: a dark press-ready card, and the transparent original for designers who want to place the art themselves.

GRAKKON brand slogan card reading ‘You're not going to win’ in pale ice type above ‘Fly anyway.’ in cyan, set on a dark dossier backdrop.

“You're not going to win. Fly anyway.”

GRAKKON brand slogan card reading ‘Only one galaxy out here is glad you came’ in cyan type on a dark dossier backdrop.

“Only one galaxy out here is glad you came.”

▶ FIELD CAPTURES ON FILE · SHOT LIVE, NOT STAGED

EXHIBIT 01 — FIRST CONTACT Field capture: the attract screen — parallax starfield, GRAKKON wordmark, and the sign-in panel a pilot sees before ever touching a stick.
First contact · the attract screen Ref. Fig. 01

No installer between you and it.

EXHIBIT 02 — WINGMATE, UNSCHEDULED Field capture: in-flight over SECTOR VELA mid-CORERUN — vitals dials, a mission checklist reading 'touch the glowing core, expect fights on the lift,' and the radio panel live with another pilot on comms.
SECTOR VELA · live CORERUN · comms open Ref. Fig. 02

Real or field-filled. The radio doesn't say.

EXHIBIT 03 — SHIELDS AT ZERO Field capture: a fight breaking out in SECTOR MOSCA — swarm contacts on radar, the Fly's red arcs sweeping the frame, and shields reading zero.
SECTOR MOSCA · swarm contact · hold still open Ref. Fig. 03

Shields at zero. The hold's still not full.

EXHIBIT 04 — THE CHART, LIVE Field capture: the live galaxy chart, logged in as pilot MADMEX_2 — the Tide's violet stain across the Band, held galaxies lit blue to the west, NO ROUTE galaxies marked red to the east, and live tide readings on LYRA and MOSCA.
Pilot MADMEX_2 · blue held · red NO ROUTE Ref. Fig. 04

West holds the line. East stopped answering.

EXHIBIT 05 — CHART HUB Field capture: the galaxy-select hub — live roster already at work before a pilot picks a destination.
The chart hub · galaxy select Ref. Fig. 05

Live roster, already at work.

EXHIBIT 06 — CHART OVERLAY, ARCHIVE CUT Field capture: an earlier chart overlay traced across the lit names and the ones the Tide has already taken.

FAQ

Is GRAKKON free?
Yes — free to play in the browser, no install. Continue with Google and fly. A separate premium catalog (optional cosmetics, ship parts, communication upgrades) is on the roadmap; the core flying loop will always be free.
What's the elevator pitch in one sentence?
GRAKKON is a free real-time multiplayer 2D vector-style space MMO — "vectors over voxels", a chart of galaxies to fly, proximity radio chat, no install.
How do I write about GRAKKON without bothering you?
Use anything on this page. Screenshots, fact sheet, features, quotes, the elevator pitch — all royalty-free for editorial use. Embed the live URL freely. If you need a higher-resolution asset or a quote on something specific, drop a line at press@grakkon.com.
Can I embed the game in an article or video?
Linking to play.grakkon.com is always welcome. iframe embedding is currently NOT supported — the OAuth popup flow needs same-origin cookies that don't survive a cross-origin iframe. We'll add an embed mode once we have a workable solution.
Who is the dev?
Ray Renteria, indie developer in El Campo, TX. Solo on GRAKKON. Reachable at press@grakkon.com or @grakkon on X.
