About Grakkon
The short version of who's building this, why it looks like this, and what "open alpha" actually promises you.
REF. THE BUILDER
WHO
One human. A crew that never sleeps.
GRAKKON is built by one human and a crew that never sleeps. Ray Renteria — indie developer, El Campo, TX — is the only person in the loop who says yes, no, and "do it again." Everything downstream of that call is built by a team of AI agents working under his direction: design, systems, interface, brand, the whole studio, minus the studio. The stack underneath it is real — wired to a real Postgres and shipped on the open web. The full tour is in devlog #001.
You may have known it as XWARS. Same cabinet, new marquee.

WHY
Neon lines, not long installs.
The space-sim genre went photoreal. Gorgeous, sure — and heavy: long installs, longer tutorials, paid early-access loops, a vibe that says "this is a commitment" before you've touched the stick. GRAKKON is built for the other feeling — the one you get standing in front of a Tempest or Asteroids cabinet at 11pm in a pizza parlor. Neon lines. Instant feedback. No install. Insert coin, play.

WHAT "OPEN ALPHA" MEANS
The honest label, not a hedge.
Translation:
It works. Fly, fight, mine, talk, keep your loadout — the core loop is shipped and live, every day, not a demo reel.
Rough edges exist. A fix has shipped the same day a bug landed. A feature has changed shape mid-week because someone said so in feedback. The patch notes are the unedited log — read them.
The core loop stays free. Sign in, fly, fight, mine, talk, level your loadout with credits you earned in the cockpit. A premium catalog of cosmetics is on the roadmap — it will never gate the fight. That's a design constraint, not a marketing line.
Your feedback shapes the game. The in-game feedback button has already routed real bugs and a real rebalance straight into the patch log. Use it.

HOW TO GIVE FEEDBACK
In priority order.
- In-game feedback button. One click, carries enough context to reproduce the bug. Fastest route from "this is weird" to a same-day fix.
- Email hello@grakkon.com — for the longer version: ideas, gripes, "here's what would make me stick around."
- X @grakkon — public channel. Tag us in your dogfight clips; we're watching.
THE BRIEF
GRAKKON is small. It's honest. It's free. It gets better every week — sometimes every day. Open alpha is the moment to be early. Your callsign is one click away.
