MARQUEE

▶ The carousel is gone. Meet the chart.

Picking a galaxy used to mean clicking through a card carousel. Now it's a chart — every seat you've heard of laid out west to east, cool safe water on one side and a line of permanent fire on the other, breathing and shifting in real time as the Tide moves through it. It's the hub now, too: sign in and you land directly on the chart, no menu screen in between.

Read it like a sailor reads a coastline. The Emberline itself — the burning edge on the far side — never stops moving. Hover a seat for a read on what's happening there tonight before you drop in.

NEW

  • The Lore. A new panel on the chart — click into it and the seats you've charted resolve into a constellation, with a scrollable history of what's actually known (and disputed) about the shape everyone's staring at. Cold field-report voice, not a wiki dump.

    · #448 #451 #452 #453
  • New jobs on the chart. LUDO is running TAG — pure flying, no guns, no cargo, just a local who wants to touch your hull and a name on the wall for whoever's fastest. FORNAX has a live hunter working its ghost-fire belt — track the one signal that doesn't lie and put it down for KESSLER at the post. PAVO's festival turned into a demolition night — line up a shot and watch the sky shatter, no scoreboard, just the pop.

    · #473 #471 #472
  • Any charted galaxy can crest now. The tide-clock that used to be MOSCA's alone is now a shared system — any galaxy on the chart can build toward a Wave and get reclaimed by the field that holds it, not just the one that started it.

    · #168

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Honest labels for the seats you can't fly yet. A handful of names on the chart don't have an open route — they used to be marked CHARTED, which reads as "already handled." They're now marked NO ROUTE: the name's on the map, nobody's filed a way in yet.

    · #469
  • VELA's board feels earned. Depositing a seat now gets real fanfare, the mission checklist stops fibbing about what's actually left, and competitive stripes reward how hard you played the run — not just whether you finished it.

    · #454 #457 #458 #459

FIXES

  • The chart stopped crashing on long sessions. A multi-minute tide cycle could degrade the Emberline into horizontal line spam and eventually crash the tab. Guarded and capped — the chart holds steady no matter how long you leave it open.

    · #532 #533
  • The Lore's constellation image actually loads in production now. A content-security policy was quietly blocking it — fixed.

    · #487

PILOT'S NOTE

This is the patch that finally retires the carousel — and it’s the widest drop we’ve shipped, so the note stays disciplined about what makes the cut. Roughly seventy tickets went into building the chart you’re looking at; here’s what actually changes your night.

The marquee is the chart itself: Emberline. It replaces the card carousel outright (#300, #310) and became the whole front door of the game — sign in and you land on it directly, no menu screen between login and the water (#320). Underneath, it went through a full visual pass — V4 — that gave it a single continuous coastline instead of the earlier build’s disconnected islands, fixed chrome, and a one-tempo drop-in flow (#435, #438, #439). Read it like a coastline: cool and safe in the west, breathing in the middle, burning permanently on the east edge that gives the chart its name.

Three features build on top of it. The Lore is a new panel that resolves the charted seats into a constellation and opens a scrollable history of what pilots actually know — and argue about (#448, #451#453). New jobs landed across the chart: LUDO’s TAG, a pure-flying game with no guns and no cargo (#473); FORNAX’s live-hunter mission, where you track the one signal in a field of false readings and put it down for the operator KESSLER (#471); and PAVO’s demolition festival, pure vector-shatter spectacle with nothing to grind for (#472). And under the hood, the tide-clock that used to belong to MOSCA alone got generalized — any charted galaxy can now build to a Wave and get reclaimed (#168).

Two improvements clean up how the chart talks to you. Seats with no open route stopped lying about being “charted” — they’re NO ROUTE now, which is the honest read (#469). And VELA’s board — the competitive line for the endgame pressure run — got a fanfare pass, a checklist that tells the truth about what’s left, and stripes that reward how you played the run, not just whether you survived it (#454, #457#459).

Two fixes: a multi-minute tide cycle could degrade the chart into a crash-prone mess of horizontal lines, now guarded and capped (#532, #533); and a content-security-policy bug was quietly blocking The Lore’s constellation image in production, now fixed (#487).

Everything else in the batch — the seat-geometry math, the neuron-field backdrop rendering, the audio-mockup restorations, the chart’s internal config plumbing — shipped to make the above possible. It’s not going in the note. You’ll feel it; you don’t need the ticket numbers.
